In Brazil, the hypothesis, relaunched by the press, that it is the couple of ex Roma fans who will take the place of Tite and Juninho Paulista at the helm of the Seleçao is popular.

But apart from the fact that both the Real coach and the Santos manager could not free themselves before 2024, there are many factors that make this operation difficult, starting with the fact that the Seleçao will need a coach from next January (a March 2023 there are the first matches) and no one seems willing to play an interim coaching role.

Thus the president of the Brazilian football federation (Cbf), Ednaldo Rodrigues, intervened to clear the field of rumors, with a statement in which he recalled that "since November 17 (the day on which Tite reiterated that he would leave regardless of the result of the national in Qatar ed) the official position of the CBF was clear: the names of the new coach and the other members of the technical commission will only be disclosed at the end of January 2023".

And it should be clarified that the president will decide in person and that in the meantime Rodrigues "has never authorized anyone, inside or outside the federation, to contact any coach or football professional for the Seleçao on behalf of the president with the goal of the 2026 World Cup".

"I don't talk about this subject - the reflection of the president of the CBF - not even with my family. For this reason, no federal executive is authorized to talk about the future of the Seleçao. Anyone who does, is telling lies".

Meanwhile, the thesis that the next coach is Brazilian is regaining ground, and the favorites are Dorival Junior, free after winning the Libertadores with Flamengo, Fernando Diniz from Fluminense and Mano Menezes from Internacional.

The latter has already coached his country's national team in the past.
