"Danger to life and limb" - urgent weather warning for the district of Ebersberg

The Katwarn disaster warning app reports an urgent danger warning from the German weather service for the Ebersberg district for Wednesday morning.

District – For the district of Ebersberg, an official severe weather warning from the German Weather Service (DWD) applies from now on (9.30 a.m.) until noon because of black ice.

Suddenly freezing rain could cause dangerous situations

"Danger to life and limb from suddenly freezing rain" is the verbatim description of the warning that has just been published, which not only affects the district of Ebersberg, but also a band of precipitation that stretches east and west south of Munich between Ammersee (Starnberg district) and Ruhpolding ( district of Traunstein) to the Alps.

Municipalities on the B304 in the Ebersberg district affected, as well as the neighboring districts of Munich and Rosenheim

The municipalities Kirchseeon, Ebersberg, Zorneding and Steinhöring that are adjacent to the B304 are named for the district of Ebersberg, but the editors have also been notified of freezing rain from Grafing.

In addition, large parts of the old district of Wasserburg (now district of Rosenheim) and the district of Munich are said to be affected - commuters should also be prepared for restrictions and dangers from sudden ice.

Weather Service recommends: Avoid staying outdoors and driving

The DWD recommends careful action: “Avoid staying outdoors and driving or adapting your behavior on the road;

Prepare for impairments on all traffic routes, including closures/closures, adjust your driving style if necessary, fill up your tank if possible, take blankets and warm drinks with you.”
