The Directorate of Culture and the Social Welfare Center of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch in Al-Hasakah held a variety of awareness activities in the hall of the Arab Cultural Center in Al-Hasakah, as part of the 16-day campaign to combat gender-based violence.
The Director of Culture, Abd al-Rahman al-Sayyid, told SANA reporter that the event, which is being implemented within the framework of the partnership held by the Directorate, humanitarian agencies and charities, included the presentation and display of a set of theatrical paintings that show aspects of women and girls' exposure to violence and abuse, whether at home, work or the street, and how to support them to confront this. Violence and enhancing their abilities, in addition to presenting interactive lyrical and poetic participations that were well received by the audience.
During the 16-day campaign to combat gender-based violence, many official institutions, charitable and humanitarian agencies and associations in Al-Hasakah governorate carried out various activities in this field.
