After the conversion, the Jesenwang town hall is back in its old home on Kirchstrasse.

Jesenwang – Mayor Erwin Fraunhofer and members of the municipal council diligently carried moving boxes – and took possession of the new premises.

It was a feat that Mayor Erwin Fraunhofer, his secretary Maria Nauder and the council members involved did last Friday and Saturday.

"We've still dealt with all the pending correspondence for the rest of the year," says Fraunhofer.

To be on the safe side, in the event that, contrary to expectations, the EDP and the Internet should not work in the newly renovated town hall.

Goal achieved, but not everything is finished yet

"On Friday, Maria Nauder and I packed up all the documents in eight hours," said the head of the town hall.

All ongoing processes had been outsourced to the community center during the renovation – just like the entire administration.

Only older documents are still waiting in the warehouse on Kirchstraße to be brought to the new archive room on the ground floor.

On Saturday it was time to get down to work: Council members loaded moving boxes onto the loading area of a truck, the trained carpenter Johann Schlemmer unscrewed desks together with Rainer Schmid and also loaded the parts onto the truck.

In addition, there were all sorts of other office supplies, computers and devices for the Internet.

stairs are missing

"We put a little pressure on the companies with our move before Christmas," says Fraunhofer.

"Otherwise we wouldn't have gotten that far yet." However, the declared goal was to come back one year after the start of the renovation on November 2nd, 2021.

Goal achieved – even if not everything is finished yet.

For example, the door frames and doors in the town hall were still missing when we moved in.

They should come on Monday.

Accordingly, the floor end strips in the area of the doors were not yet attached.

And the new entrance area is not finished yet.

The stairs are still missing.

So for the time being we go through the previous door into the new rooms.

(

By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular

FFB newsletter.)

A whole range of furniture will also be delivered shortly.

But nothing so wild for Fraunhofer.

He rather enjoyed the new boardroom, where the old table has been stained a new color.

It blends in with the light wood of the new furniture throughout the rest of City Hall.

At the end-of-year meeting, the council members take their seats there for the first time.

It will be a while before people can get an idea.

The contact point is closed until January 10th.

Finally, everything has to be cleared from the moving boxes into the cupboards.

Life Saving Device

What is also new is that the defibrillator that was previously installed in the shared rooms of the Sparkasse and Volksbank will now be hanging in the town hall.

The bank offices will be closed on December 31st.

From then on, the life-saving device can be found in the entrance bay of the new town hall.

Until then, there should be a provisional staircase in place of the missing staircase.

The interim quarters in the community center are now free again for the local theater group.

In a way, Corona almost played into the community's cards a little.

Because of the pandemic, no theater performances have been possible in the past two years.

That is why there were no collisions between the theater group and the community in the room in the community house.

Now theater is possible again - and the community gone again.
