The BEG makes it possible: Drivers of electric cars in Attenkirchen can now also enjoy a public e-charging station.

Attenkirchen

- On Monday Mayor Mathias Kern and Andreas Henze and Werner Hillebrand-Hansen from the Bürger-Energie-Genossenschaft (BEG) Freisinger Land opened two charging points behind the Trattoria Giuseppe.

Two cars can now recharge their electricity there from a 22-kilowatt socket.

The investor dropped out on the first try

A corresponding infrastructure should have existed earlier in Attenkirchen.

At the parking lot at the roundabout in the direction of Reichertshausen, this was planned, Kern recalled.

However, the investor dropped out.

Fortunately, a corresponding contract was concluded with the Freising citizens' energy cooperative shortly afterwards.

Because the municipality, like many other municipalities in the district, is a member of the BEG, no costs were incurred for Attenkirchen, the mayor emphasized.

It's a great thing to keep the added value in the region.

"If the citizens' energy cooperative doesn't already exist, it would have to be invented," Kern praised.

Business people are pleased with the new infrastructure

The surrounding shops have already signaled their joy about the new charging stations.

A hairdressing salon, for example, and also the trattoria, whose guests could get into a fully loaded car after their stay.

The charging process can be started around the clock and seven days a week, explained Werner Hillebrand-Hansen and Andreas Henze.

This is possible with a charging card from the common electromobility providers.

The BEG also offers a citizen charging network card - the electricity then comes from wind and solar energy.

The card can be used at all citizen network charging stations in the district.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The existing charging stations in the district have so far been very well received.

In the first half of the year, 1198 charging processes took place across the district.

The two engineers reported that this was an increase of more than 80 percent compared to the second half of 2021.

The total investment in the citizen charging network in 2022 was around 400,000 euros.

The BEG is also responsible for the functionality of the charging station and the monitoring of proper operation.

"A great opportunity for rural areas," said the mayor of Attenkirchen.
