The Ombudsman: "I'm worried about it" (Walla system!)
Minister of Internal Security Omar Bar-Lev today (Wednesday) revealed sensitive information about the policies of the police and the Shin Bet live in one of the Knesset committees. Bar-Lev said these things in a special discussion that dealt with the "Ben Gabir Law" where he detailed the opening fire procedures, roadblocks and measures Fighting by the police on Jerusalem Day and on the Temple Mount in particular. During the discussion, the police representatives tried to stop the minister by claiming that the information is sensitive and should not be published.
The minister read quotes from a summary of a meeting with security officials that dealt with the preparation of the police for Jerusalem Day and the Flag Parade, a meeting that was held on the first day of Bar -Lev on duty. "The minister instructs not to use stun grenades on the Temple Mount, but by direct order of the district commander," Bar-Lev said, among other things. At these moments, the police representatives erupted, but Bar-Lev went on to elaborate on the Shin Bet's policy recommendations regarding checkpoints.
The legal advisor of the National Police, Elazar Kahane, intervened, raised his voice and said, "I don't think the discussion is worth revealing this information, I'm worried about it." Bar-Lev replied to him: "Then be worried."
