The latest work by Turin street artist Andrea Villa, 'Escape from Christmas', is a Christmas-themed social critique.
In the new poster, posted this night in Corso San Maurizio in Turin, a scene from the nativity is reproduced in which, however, the little child escapes, hanging from a red balloon, under the eyes of Mary and Joseph.
"With this poster - explains the artist, known as Banksy from Turin - I wanted to represent a Jesus tired of having to sacrifice himself every year for a humanity that continues to make wars, to be racist and not to learn from its mistakes. Tired and disheartened - adds Villa -, Jesus decides to fly back to heaven and not care about saving everyone's souls. The painting I was inspired by is 'Adoration of the child' by Lorenzo Lotto ", he concludes.
