Good news for motorists: From the weekend, traffic should again be rolling between Schongau and Peiting without switching traffic lights.
Also in Birkland, where the through road is being renewed, the end of the full closure of the state road is in sight.
Schongau/Birkland - The expansion of Peitinger Strasse in Schongau has been underway since October.
Originally, the state building authority had hoped that the work could be completed by mid-December.
But this schedule could not be kept, says Andreas Lang, who is responsible for the construction work at the authority.
Due to the cramped situation on site, among other things, the construction company did not progress as hoped.
The crossing aid at the Mühlkanal bridge and the cycle path to Dießener Straße are finished.
The crossing area there, including the traffic lights, will only be addressed after the winter break.
As reported, the Bad Wörishof company Kutter and Swarco Traffic Systems from Munich received the order with a total volume of 810,000 euros.
The former is responsible for road construction.
The second company is responsible for the construction of the traffic lights at the Dießener Straße junction.
Felling work between Birkland and Herzogsägmühle
Also in Birkland, where the through road has been renewed since September, traffic should start rolling again from the middle of next week.
The construction work up to the Lüßweg is as good as complete, the cycle path and the base layer of the roadway have been made, reports Lang.
As soon as the weather permits in spring, the second phase of construction will continue.
The time until then will be used for felling work between the sawmill and Herzogsägmühle to make room for the construction of the cycle path.
Traffic lights could change at times, according to Lang.
