The flu epidemic has spread in recent days in France, now hitting the entire metropolis, while the peak of bronchiolitis has been reached, health authorities announced on Wednesday.
The flu epidemic, which broke out at the end of November, has spread to all metropolitan areas, according to the weekly report from Public Health France.
In the overseas territories, only Guyana and Guadeloupe are still in the pre-epidemic phase, while Martinique and Mayotte are in the epidemic phase like mainland France.
The last few days have been marked by a continued increase in flu indicators in all age groups and a “
sharp increase in hospitalizations
” (+117%).
The number of consultations for flu-like illness between December 5 and 11 also soared compared to the previous week, rising from 185 to 265 per 100,000 inhabitants, an increase of 43%.
