Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali confirmed that the BRICS countries and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization have become a new pole of power in the world, and every day their role becomes more important.
Jalali said in a press conference at the Iranian embassy today in Moscow: The Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS countries in the world have become a new center of power, and this center is gaining increasing importance every day.
Jalali added: Orientation towards the East is also considered a new global force, as regional integration organizations are being formed with the help of Russia and China.
In a related context, Jalali announced that more than 40 percent of trade between Russia and Iran takes place in the ruble, and the ruble may become the main currency in bilateral trade relations between the two countries.
Jalali indicated that Tehran also supported the idea of using the ruble as the main currency in regional integration associations, such as the Eurasian Economic Union, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS bloc.
