The two Pápydo founders presented their sustainable packaging paper in the Christmas special of "Die Höhle der Löwen".

The EU has also taken up the cause of promoting sustainable development – and on a much smaller scale, so have the founders of Pápydo.
Katharina Lehmkuhl and Melusine Bliesener have designed special, sustainable packaging paper with Pápydo.
The special thing about it is that it is made of grass.
They presented their product in the Christmas program of the Vox start-up show “Die Höhle der Löwen” – appropriately just before Christmas and the gift-giving season.
The DHDL investors Carsten Maschmeyer and Judith Williams were able to convince the Pápydo founders.
Together they agreed to invest 100,000 euros.

Pápydo packaging paper: Sustainable material, economical to manufacture
As Lehmkuhl and Bliesener explain on their website, it is not only the packaging paper made of grass fibers that is decisive for sustainability.
Equally important are the printing inks, which usually cannot be separated from the paper after production.
Only compostable and plastic-free materials are used for Pápydo.
In addition, the production of the grass paper uses over 90 percent less water, energy and CO₂ than conventional paper.
The advantages are obvious: grass grows much faster than a tree and the delivery routes remain very short, since the Pápydo founders rely on 100 percent Made in Germany.
