Wolfratshausen - The sixth edition of the river festival will take place in Wolfratshausen in July.

This time finally again without Corona requirements.

The date for the sixth river festival will take place from July 7th to 23rd, 2023 in Wolfratshausen.

Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner, cultural adviser Sepp Schwarzenbach and city marketing department head Stefan Werner recently presented the program in the town hall.

Instead of a side-opening tent, a so-called Opera Tent is now being set up again at the old raft landing.

The imposing setting is the hallmark of the river festival and offers seating for around 450 visitors.

Depending on requirements, this capacity can be expanded with standing room.

Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner was relieved that the water management office recently approved the floating river stage.

Due to flood events in 2021, this permit was on the brink.

At that time, the show by local hero Dominik Halamek had to be moved to the neighboring courtyard of the Hammerschmied School at short notice.

Laith Al-Deen moved to the Loisachhalle.

"We will keep this venue available as an alternative location in the coming year," promised Heilinglechner.

Of course, he would prefer the city not to have to resort to this option.

This time there are deliberately no international artists

"It is a highlight for many artists to be able to perform on the river festival stage," said the head of the town hall.

This time, the organizers deliberately forgo international crowd pullers such as Rainhard Fendrich, who opened the festival in 2017.

"We don't want to compete with the Munich Olympiahalle here and prefer to rely on regional artists," explained Heilinglechner.

Program preview for the river festival

With a colorful mix of styles from reggae, polka, hip-hop and waltz, the So&So band will open the river festival on July 7th.

This is followed by concerts by Raggabund (July 8th) and Dreiviertelbluts as well as a Sunday matinee by the music school (July 9th each).

After cabaret performances by Franziska Wanninger (12 July) and Simon Pearce (13 July), local hero Dominik Halamek invites you to the "Summer Nights II" (14 July).

The guest performance of "Django3000" (15 July), a morning pint with the town band and the film evening "Im Kampf mit dem Berge an" (both 16 July) accompanied by the Philharmonic Orchestra Isartal characterize the second river festival weekend.

It continues with the Tegernsee all-rounder Oimara (19 July), Mathias Kellner (20 July) and Martin Frank (21 July).

Culture consultant Sepp Schwarzenbach expects a lot from the "Jennerwein" performance of the Loisachtal farmer's stage,

which includes the river and the environment in the scenes (22.7.).

The series of events in Wolfratshausen will conclude on July 23 with the “Family Fun Festival” organized by the children and youth development association.

Tickets for the Wolfratshauser Flussfestvial are now available in advance online at www.muenchenticket.de and at the Tourist Information in Untermarkt 10.
