Today, Iran and Russia signed a memorandum of understanding for joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of developing space industries and telecommunications, on the sidelines of the Aircraft and Aerospace Industries Exhibition on the Iranian island of Kish.
The head of the Iranian Aerospace Industries Organization, Hassan Salari, said during the signing of the agreement with his Russian counterpart Yuri Borisov that this document included cooperation in the fields of building sensor satellites, establishing laboratories' infrastructure and satellite launch and testing bases, expressing his hope that this cooperation between the two countries will continue for years.
In turn, Borisov stressed the importance of developing cooperation with Tehran in this field, pointing out that sending Iranian astronauts to the Russian space station is one of the joint programs between the two countries, and that Iran's success in launching a satellite into space in 2009 made it one of the nine countries that possess this technology.
It is noteworthy that 90 companies from Iran, Russia, China, Ethiopia and other countries are participating in the exhibition.
