Kiev rocked by explosions
again
8 a.m.:
The Ukrainian capital Kiev was apparently again the target of a Russian attack in the early hours of the morning.
Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram that there had been several explosions in the city.
In addition, the Ukrainian air defense shot down ten drones.
The information could not be independently confirmed at first.
The city authorities later announced that, according to initial findings, two administration buildings in the center had been damaged.
Information about victims was initially not available.
Attacks were also reported from other parts of Ukraine.
In the past 24 hours there have been rocket and rocket launcher attacks in the Kharkiv, Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions, the Ukrainian military general staff said in its morning briefing.
Selenskyj thanks for winter emergency aid
7.40 a.m .:
Volodymyr Zelenskyj thanked him for the emergency winter aid for his country that was initiated at a conference in Paris.
Among other things, the badly damaged power grid could be rebuilt with this, the Ukrainian President said on Tuesday evening.
"Every day we draw new strength for Ukraine to get through this winter, and I thank everyone who is committed to this and helping our state," Zelenskyj said in his daily video address in the evening.
The international Ukraine conference in Paris had pledged aid worth a good one billion euros on Tuesday.
French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna said the donations were in cash and in kind.
The aid should be provided from now until the end of winter.
