Unionist stunned in 2016: two to three years in prison with suspended sentence required at the assizes against a CRS

During a demonstration against the labor law, a CRS fired a grenade at a demonstrator, causing him to lose the sight of his eye.


The prosecution requested Wednesday, December 14 two to three years of suspended imprisonment against a CRS, tried before the Paris Assize Court for an unjustified throwing of a grenade which blinded a trade unionist during a demonstration against the labor law in 2016.

Advocate General Christophe Auger found that the 54-year-old brigadier-in-chief, Alexandre M., was neither in imminent danger nor in a state of self-defense when he threw this disencircling hand grenade on September 15, 2016, causing to Laurent Theron the permanent loss of his right eye.
