Weather experts warn of "tense ice conditions" and "significant" traffic problems

Word is that parts of the country will face an air mass limit with tense ice conditions.

As early as Wednesday morning, December 14, the weather expert sees "probably a tense ice situation somewhere in the middle and in the south of Germany".
However, an accurate assessment of the situation around the air mass limit should probably only be possible on Tuesday evening.
However, nothing further is known about a possible snowfall at Christmas.
Weather expert expects rapid fall and smoothness in south-east Germany
Panke then forecasts the second part of the borderline weather situation between cold air in the north and brief relief in the south for Thursday.
Especially from Baden-Württemberg to Bavaria, precipitation would again occur.
“Partly as snow, partly as freezing rain with a risk of black ice, before the cold air flows in from the north on Friday,” notes the meteorologist.

A few days before Christmas 2022 there are repeated forecasts of possible snowfall on the holidays.
While the weather in Germany was relatively mild in December in recent years, it seems relatively unlikely that there will be snow all over Germany this year.
At least that's the opinion of the German Weather Service.
In the south-east of the country, rapid falls including ice can still be expected.
All in all, and depending on how the snowfall areas are moving, the weather expert expects fresh snow amounts of ten to 20 centimeters.
And despite the milder air in the meantime, you still have to be prepared for frosty to icy nights in Germany.
According to Panke, "with a new high, a thorough calming of the weather" would be approaching at the weekend.
"This means that it will be clear and starry again more often, with lows below -10 degrees above the snow-covered areas," says the meteorologist.

The German Weather Service (DWD) also warns of ice on Wednesday.
In the south-west in particular, “snow and freezing rain” can be expected in the morning.
It would be “really slippery” on the roads, which applies in particular to Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Saarland, parts of Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia, according to qualified meteorologist Dominik Jung from

According to Brandt, everyone "who is traveling in the direction of Bavaria or Baden-Württemberg on Wednesday" should expect "significant impairments in road and rail traffic".
Meanwhile, Bremen and Lower Saxony are confronted with permafrost and a polar whip.
