Three months have passed since Sony released Spider-Man for the PC, and it continues to deliver the goods. The PC version of The Young Spider-Man does not fall short of its predecessor

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales (Playstation)

For anyone who has missed it in recent years, Sony has decided that it is opening itself up to a new audience: PC gamers.

In the current market in the gaming world, Sony realized that it could no longer rely on selling consoles alone, and began marketing some of its exclusive (and excellent) games for the first time for PC as well.

We have already covered God of War (2018) and Spider-Man here on the website in the PC versions and they received praise from us for the quality ports that Sony was able to provide.

That's why we didn't have too much doubt that the side game

would deliver the goods this time as well.

plot

Miles' storyline begins several months after the first game ended.

He is still learning to use his powers and what it really means to "be Spider-Man" under the close tutelage of the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker.

The plot will pick up speed when Parker announces that he is going on vacation with Mary Jane, and the watch over New York City passes into the hands of the fresh new Spider-Man.

Miles' first days pass easily, until he, a new underground organization called The Underground, declares war on a private energy corporation called Roxxon, which, among other things, is also responsible for supplying electricity to the residents of Harlem.

Miles will find himself at the heart of the conflict that will endanger the fate of New York as a whole, and of course along the way he will learn the sacrifice that is required of a hero like Spider-Man.

If you are a computer gamer and you didn't get to experience the games on PlayStation, both Miles Morales and the original Spider-Man are MUST games.

Especially if you are a fan of the character.

These are the fun and complete Spider-Man games that have been released for the character in years, and the PC version also features a number of features that are not available for the console, which we will talk about later.

Playfulness

In terms of gameplay, Miles Morales maintains the same principles as the original.

A fluid combat system that draws inspiration from the Arkham series, only that unlike Batman, the emphasis is more on acrobatics in the air, use of webs, impressive exercises or jumping and leaping from target to target.

And of course the web spinning system is so addictive and fun that makes navigating the map a continuous bliss.

The twist that the new game brings with it are the special abilities of Miles compared to Peter.

Miles, for example, can attack with a special poison that also electrifies the opponents and opens up new options in the battle system.

He is also able to turn invisible, which gives players the option to remain anonymous and maintain an element of stealth if they wish.

In the previous game, as soon as Peter was discovered - the battle began.

Miles' web-spinning animations are also fundamentally different from Peter's, and it seems that in many cases they are taken directly from the (excellent) animated film "Into the Spider Dimension".

They have so much style and grace, and these are the only games where I hardly used the Fast Travel option on the map just because this mechanic is so fun and addictive.

You'll forgive me for the kitschy (and constant) saying, but these games really make you feel like Spider-Man.

And this time, like Miles Morales.

Definitions Definitions and more definitions

Sony and the developers at Nixxes (who are responsible for the PC version) did a great job and spared nothing.

There is full support for wide screens (Ultra Wide) and a much wider range of graphic settings: unlimited frame rate, shadows, level of detail, and all the technical details that PC players like to fiddle with until they get the perfect frame rate.

Owners of Nvidia cards from the 3000 series and above will also benefit from DLSS and DLAA support.

Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to upgrade the card yet and I haven't gained Ray Tracing capabilities, but I ran the game on my Radeon RX 5700 XT, and with it I reached (according to the card's launcher) an average of 150 FPS at 1080p.

I have no complaints in this section, and PC players can expect a smooth port without any glitches.

With the PC version comes keyboard and mouse support, and of course the option to change keys of your choice.

If you are a remote player, of course you can connect the DualSense remote of the PS5 and get full support for its special capabilities, or even play with an Xbox remote.

The UI of the keys even changes accordingly.

How surreal.

In conclusion

If you played the original Spider-Man (and loved it) there is no reason to skip Miles Morales.

Sony continues to release polished and amazing versions for PC (and of course for consoles as well) and continues to maximize their graphical potential.

At a time when quite a few games are released in the industry half-polished almost regularly, this is an achievement that is definitely worth appreciating.
