In Ingolstadt, a senior fell for a scam.
She gave all her valuables to a supposed healer for ritual purposes.
Ingolstadt – It is becoming increasingly common for seniors to fall victim to scammers.
The police therefore warns of "fake police officers" and the "shock calls" in which alleged grandchildren often ask those affected for money under the wrong number.
Now there was another case in Ingolstadt, this time with an extremely strange scam.
Alleged healer robs senior of her valuables worth 60,000 euros
In Ingolstadt, an unknown woman spoke to a 63-year-old in front of a supermarket on Tuesday (December 13).
She posed as a "healer" and pretended that the elderly woman was suffering from a "black disease" and that all her valuables were cursed as a result.
"Because the pensioner was very superstitious, she allowed the scammer to persuade her to take jewelry and cash worth almost 60,000 euros from her apartment," the police said on Thursday.
At a bus stop, she gave the scammer's valuables for a ritual.
The stranger wrapped everything in a cloth and spoke "curse-dissolving formulas in Russian".
She then gave the 63-year-old an identical-looking package, which she should now store under her bed for 40 days.
However, the woman became suspicious and opened the package the next day.
She had to realize that the contents consisted only of scraps of paper and that all valuables were missing.
Ingolstadt police are looking for witnesses to the incident
The police are looking for witnesses to the incident that took place on Weningstrasse.
For this she published a personal description of the scammer:
Female
35-40 years old
About 165 centimeters tall
speaks russian
Dressed in a gray cap, gray down jacket, gray sweatpants
The Ingolstadt criminal police have started the investigation and are asking people who can provide relevant information about the crime or the suspects to call (0841) 9 34 30.
