In the suspected doping case of the soccer professional Mario Vuskovic from the second division Hamburger SV, the analysis of the B sample was also positive.
This was announced by the German Football Association (DFB) on Thursday.
"Based on the results of the analysis of the B sample that are now available, it is assumed that there has been a violation of applicable anti-doping regulations," it said.
Hamburg – Now the DFB sports court has to decide on possible sanctions.
"HSV will now examine and determine the next steps in close consultation with its players and in exchange with the DFB," HSV wrote on its website.
Vuskovic had been tested positive for erythropoietin (Epo) by the National Anti-Doping Agency Nada during a training control on September 16 in Hamburg.
The result was announced by the DFB on November 12th.
A few days later, the 21-year-old Croatian was provisionally banned.
If he is convicted by the sports court, he faces a four-year ban.
