Starnberg - "Ökoprofit" supports companies efficiently and cost-effectively in improving corporate environmental and climate protection.

Ten participating companies from the district of Starnberg developed interesting measures that stand for exemplary corporate environmental protection.

Significant successes were also achieved this year: Together, the participating companies saved 394,000 kilowatt hours of electricity, 687,000 kilowatt hours of heating energy and an additional 211,000 kilograms of CO2.

"My heartfelt thanks go to all the Ökoprofit companies that received awards today: Last year they again implemented many small and large measures that help to save energy or water, avoid waste, switch to sustainable products or protect the environment in others way to relieve.

They are therefore a role model for sustainable entrepreneurial action," says Deputy District Administrator Matthias Vilsmayer.

Companies from the district of Starnberg improve their environmental balance in 59 implemented measures

In recent years, companies in the districts of Starnberg, Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen and Weilheim-Schongau have been able to successfully improve their environmental balance by participating in Ökoprofit.

Ökoprofit is a cooperation project between municipalities and the local economy with the aim of reducing operating costs while at the same time conserving natural resources.

14 companies, some of which have already received an Ökoprofit award, were able to improve their environmental performance and save costs at the same time with the help of various workshops this year.

Each of the 59 measures implemented contributes to reducing the burden on the environment.

Reduce energy consumption and operating costs

All participating actors benefit from the formation of a local network: companies, authorities and experts.

The goals of the group project include compliance with legal requirements, reducing energy and resource consumption, lowering operating costs and involving employees.

The companies were able to expand their knowledge in the field of resource efficiency through interactive workshops and individual consultations with the environmental consulting company Arqum GmbH.

Workshops on sustainability and changes caused by the corona pandemic

Topics of the workshops in 2022 included climate change risks and sustainability, climate neutrality and renewable energies, green hydrogen and climate accounting.

The operational changes caused by the corona pandemic were also discussed.

Because of Corona, a wide variety of challenges arose for each individual company, especially mobile working, the implementation of hygiene concepts and updates in the area of occupational safety.

Even if the conclusion of all participants was that the partly online/partly on-site version of Ökoprofit was a complete success, everyone hopes that the workshops can again take place completely as face-to-face events in the coming year, since the interpersonal exchange is very popular with everyone is appreciated.
