Will outdoor pool lovers soon have to do without such jumps?

That's not out of the question.

The trade tax gap must be closed.

The Unterhachinger Finanzausschluss is now discussing the savings potential.

The operation of the outdoor pool is up for grabs.

Unterhaching

– What usually turns out to be a formality and is done in a few seconds took a tough 32 minutes this time.

For so long, the Unterhachinger Finance Committee conferred on the agenda - and ultimately tightened it as well as that of the municipal council meeting on Wednesday evening.

All the issues that are painful for the citizens, such as higher kindergarten fees, the abolition of municipal energy saving subsidies or the big string concert in the subsidies for music schools, adult education centers, sports and other clubs flew off the agenda.

Is the municipality even threatened with receivership?

A "position paper" that Emil Salzeder (Neo parliamentary group) had emailed in advance from a business trip in Africa caused additional irritation - from far-off Namibia he suspected that Unterhaching "risks the ability to act" and, if necessary, even "the threat of receivership".

It's probably not that bad yet, but the current gap in trade tax of over twelve million euros has to be filled somehow.

So the finance committee discussed the remaining savings potential on the canceled agenda.

Among other things, the cost-intensive operation of the outdoor pool is up for grabs.

You could save yourself a hybrid ticket system

"It has not yet been finally clarified whether the outdoor pool will open at all in summer," said Stefan Lauszat, head of the building administration.

Actually, it should be about the introduction of a hybrid ticket system - but Unterhaching can of course save this investment if the outdoor pool should remain closed in 2023.

"I don't want to read the headline 'We're closing the outdoor pool'," said Richard Raiser (CSU), one should "not spread panic".

On the other hand, he admitted: "Yes, we are talking about conceptual changes." The draft resolution from the town hall states that it is still unclear "whether and how the Unterhaching outdoor pool can be operated in the coming season".

The municipality, which has so far subsidized this popular leisure facility, has an annual deficit of around 620,000 euros.

Two investments overturned

The finance committee overturned two other planned investments: the exhibition pavilion for a historic fire engine, which cost a good 200,000 euros, and several new buildings at the construction depot (vehicle hall with workshops, grit hall with silo), which together would cost around 750,000 euros.

Exhibition pavilion is passee

“We don't skimp on safety and equipment at the fire brigade.

But there is simply not enough money for an exhibition pavilion, now and in two years' time.

But the fire brigade can take care of that on its own,” said Richard Raiser.

Alfons Hofstetter (Free Voters) praised the fire brigade for their accommodation: "If every club were so understanding, many things would be easier." In terms of the building depot, Raiser saw "a message - namely that we keep an eye on the expansion instead of him to wipe away".

Increase in school expansion costs

The increase in costs for the school extension at the sports park to 14.3 million euros was also an issue again.

"We started with 9.2 million euros, now it's 14.3 - and it won't stay that way," prophesied Christine Helming (Free Voters).

“Another million and another and another.

That's an incredible increase.” As a comparison, she added that the construction of the entire school once cost 26 million euros.

Mayor Wolfgang Panzer (SPD) referred to increased construction costs and "that we have added a lot of technology that did not exist before".

Conclusion: The Unterhachinger austerity course remains a constant balancing act.
