Hyundai's range of electric models in Israel is expanding these days with the landing in Israel of a version with an increased range of the electric Hyundai Kona.
Hyundai's compact crossover in its electric version landed in Israel a little over a year ago, and the urgent changes in the streetcar market and the entry of a host of new competitors from the East require Hyundai to improve its positions.

The range-extended version of the Hyundai Kona EV is equipped with a lithium-ion polymer battery with a capacity of 64 kWh compared to 39.2 kWh in the standard version.
This means that the long-range version has an impressive declared driving range of 484 km compared to only 305 km in the standard version.
As in the past, the warranty that Hyundai gives on the battery is for 7 years or 150 thousand km.
The Hyundai Kona EV also offers better performance thanks to a more powerful electric motor that produced 204 hp compared to 136. The torque figure is the same in both versions and stands at 40.2 kgm.
This extra power makes it possible to shorten the acceleration to 100 km/h in two full seconds to 7.9 seconds, while the maximum speed is electronically limited to 167 km/h.
The level of equipment has not changed, and the last range version also comes with full active safety specifications (autonomous braking even in reverse, active lane keeping and traffic detection in blind spots), a multimedia system with Apple and Google connectivity, a digital dashboard with a variable display, a smart key with drive Remote, full LED lighting, and electrically adjustable seats.
The price, on the other hand, is NIS 184,900, which is NIS 36,000 more than the standard version.
This price tag places the EV buyer above popular electric crossovers such as the significantly larger Geely Geometric C and BYD Auto 3.
