In Bordeaux, paid parking continues to expand

Gradually implemented since April 2022, paid parking is effective today between Cours Saint-Louis and Cours Balguerie-Stuttenberg.

” in Bordeaux?

After the introduction of paid parking on the boulevards (from the Toulouse barrier to the Judaïque barrier) and in the Chartrons district (between the rue du jardin public, the Cours du Médoc and the quays), it is now the Bordeaux district. Maritime which is concerned, between the Saint-Louis and Balguerie-Stuttenberg courts.

From this Thursday, motorists will have to pay €1.80 per hour of parking, and will not be able to stay for more than 24 hours.

A gradual implementation, which follows “

a consultation with the inhabitants of several sectors on their uses in terms of mobility

”, underlines the ecological municipality.

The objective being “

to respond to the problems of lack of spaces, inconvenient parking, suction cup cars, congestion on the sidewalks, safety, pollution

”.

This participatory approach has made it possible to "

identify clear trends in the sectors consulted

": some have spoken out in favor of regulated parking, and it is in these places that it is set up, until 2024.

All boulevards concerned in 2024

Two sectors expressed themselves against, Saint-Augustin and Caudéran, and will therefore not be affected by this measure.

For the town hall of Bordeaux, "

a first solution is thus provided to the problems related to parking

".

The city nevertheless undertakes “

to continue the search for solutions, in connection with the inhabitants, for the sectors not integrated into the programming

”.

The introduction of regulated parking will continue in February 2023 (between the Judaïque barrier and the Médoc barrier), in April at La Bastide, in September between the Toulouse barrier and the Simone Veil bridge and in November south of the Bordeaux park.

Finally, the last phase will take place in January 2024 between the Médoc barrier and the course of the Médoc.

Parking on almost all the boulevards on the left bank will then be chargeable, prefiguring the development of these major axes, desired by the city and the metropolis.
