After in-depth investigation and intelligence analysis, the Hong Kong Island Regional Intelligence Unit and the Anti-Triad Action Team identified a fraud group controlled by non-Chinese.
The investigation revealed that the group stole the personal data of 11 victims from April to December this year, including using stolen ID cards, illegally obtained personal data and forged address proofs to apply for credit cards or use The victim's e-wallet carried out more than 200 online transactions involving more than 300,000 yuan.
After investigation, the police launched an arrest operation yesterday (15th) and arrested 5 Nepalese men and 1 Indonesian woman (aged 22 to 55) in Kowloon District. Among them, 1 male mastermind and 3 members were arrested in Kowloon City. They were suspected of "theft" and "conspiracy to defraud". During the operation, the police seized an ID card suspected to be related to the case, and it is not ruled out that more people will be arrested.
During the operation, six non-Chinese men and women were arrested.
