– As reported by the police, a Hyundai Tucson caught fire on Wednesday (December 14) at around 5:35 p.m. in the public parking lot at Nördliche Hauptstraße 15 in Rottach-Egern.

When the 31-year-old driver from Bad Wiessee noticed the fire, he first tried to extinguish it himself.

When he couldn't do that, he called 911 immediately.

In the meantime, the flames spread to the Nissan car of a 33-year-old Dietramszeller who was standing right next to it.

Both vehicles burned out completely.

According to the police, the Rottach-Egern fire brigade was able to extinguish the fully engulfed cars “with great effort” and prevent them from spreading to the house and other vehicles.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

The property damage amounts to a total of around 30,000 euros.

There was also minor material damage to the house facade due to sooting.

According to the police, a technical defect in the Hyundai is currently assumed to be the cause of the fire.
