Netanyahu said these things during the talks with representatives of Torah Judaism and Shas when the parties discussed the exemption of yeshiva students whose "Torah is their art" from military service in the IDF.
As published this week in Vala, the ultra-Orthodox are close to final agreements towards signing a full coalition agreement towards the formation of the next government.
According to the apparent conclusion, the government will advance the basic law: Torah study so that it makes studying in yeshivot a value and the High Court will have significant difficulty invalidating the arrangement that exempts Torah students from service in the IDF.
Although the parties failed to reach a final agreement on the wording of the law itself, it appears that their demand that it not include recruitment targets and sanctions will be accepted.
However, in order to allow the ultra-Orthodox to guarantee control over the wording of the proposal even after the formation of the government, it was decided that the conscription law would be promoted on the eve of the approval of the next budget, so that the ultra-Orthodox would support it subject to progress on the conscription issue.
