The prime minister-designate claimed that an agreement with Saudi Arabia may lead to the end of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict • Netanyahu referred to the forming coalition: "I will steer this government, the other parties join me, I do not join them, the parties will follow my policy"

"It will change our region in unimaginable ways":

Binyamin Netanyahu was interviewed today (Thursday) by the Saudi news network "Al Arabiya" and referred to the possibility of a normalization agreement with Saudi Arabia. Among his words, Netanyahu referred to the fact that this agreement will lead to the end of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, referring to government officials which he is building and claimed that "the government will act according to my policy".

Regarding the coalition he is currently building, Netanyahu said: "I did not hand over the powers in Judea and Samaria, all decisions will be made by the Minister of Defense.

The last decade in which I led Israel was the safest decade in Israel's history.

But not only safe for the Israelis, also safe and protected for the Palestinians, because there was the least loss of life on both sides and this is no accident.

This is because of a security policy that I have led, which has actually resulted in more peace and economic possibilities.

And by the way, the year I left the government and the outgoing government was in power, things changed immediately.

Watch Netanyahu's full interview:

"We had an outbreak of violence the likes of which we have not seen since 2008, a year before I returned to office. My policy is one of stability, peace, prosperity and security for Israelis and Palestinians alike. I will govern and lead and steer this government. The other parties join me, I do not join them "The Likud is half of the new coalition, so the parties will follow my policy."

Netanya later referred to a possible normalization agreement with Saudi Arabia: "I think we can have a new peace initiative that will be a huge leap forward in the achievement of solving the Arab-Israeli conflict and ultimately, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

And of course, I mean what could be a truly amazing historic peace with Saudi Arabia.

Please note, I am committed to deepening and strengthening the wonderful Abrahamic agreements we had with our neighbors, but I think that peace with Saudi Arabia will serve two purposes.

This would be a huge leap towards total peace between Israel and the Arab world.

It will change our region in unimaginable ways.

And I think it will make it easier, in the end, to achieve Palestinian-Israeli peace.

I believe it and I intend to continue it.

Of course, it is up to the Saudi leadership if they want to participate in this effort.

I certainly hope they will.'
