The Directorate of Homs Culture, in cooperation with the Plastic Artists Syndicate, organized a memorial ceremony for the late plastic artist, Haisam Qahf, on the occasion of the forty days since his passing.
The memorial ceremony included the screening of a documentary film about the life of the late, his artistic career, his works, and the testimonies of his friends and plastic colleagues, including the journalist Yarub Al-Issa and the plastic artist Ayman Al-Daqr, who were unanimously agreed that he is a creative artist who expressed his sincere feelings and emotions in his national sculptural works that were embraced in the squares and gardens of Homs, and he spent his share of time between A stone and a chisel, trying to breathe life into the solid stones, using only two tools;
A chisel made of steel, and a heart made of love and the love of life and beauty.
The plastic artist Abdullah Al-Naqri gave a speech to the Plastic Artists Syndicate, in which he pointed out that the sculptor Qahf presented many sculptural works expressing his national positions, which reflect his virtuous traits.
Iman Qahf delivered the speech of the family of the deceased, in which she said: The late, with his simple tools, turned the stone into a wonderful poem, and he was calm and educated, with his own philosophy in matters of life, while Ayman Qahf expressed his grief over the loss of his brother, who left an artistic legacy through his sculptural works that attest to it. The squares of his city, which he was devoted to and loved, and left a beautiful impression on the hearts of his family and friends who knew him as a person and an artist.
Issa Badran praised the virtues of his late friend, describing him as a creative person who mastered his art, and who will remain a beautiful legacy in the hearts of future generations.
The artist Qahf, born in Homs in 1961, showed his passion for fine art at the age of twenty. He learned from his schools and scholars, which refined his artistic experience to find his greatest goal in sculpture.
