The man accused of assaulting the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also planned to attack Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, California Governor Gavin Newsom and actor Tom Hanks, police said.
During a preliminary hearing, San Francisco Police Lt. Carla Hurley testified Wednesday that David DePape revealed his hit list to her, in an interview he did while he was hospitalized shortly after carrying out the attack on Paul Pelosi. in October.

A previous court deposition had already revealed that DePape, 42, was targeting several "prominent" state and federal politicians, family members and a local professor.

Newsom, a Democrat, has been governor of California since 2019, and Hanks, for his part, has publicly endorsed Biden.

The attack against Paul Pelosi, 82, occurred on October 28 at the residence he shares with the speaker of the Lower House in San Francisco.

Pelosi was wounded in the head multiple times and suffered a fractured skull, as well as other "serious injuries" to her right arm and hands.
He underwent surgery that was "successful."
The judge determined that there was sufficient evidence to proceed to trial.
DePape was indicted on federal charges of attempted kidnapping and assault.
Among the state charges he also faces are attempted murder, burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, unlawful detention of an elder and threats against a public official and his family.
DePape has pleaded not guilty to those charges.
On December 28, he will be processed for the charges against him.
