According to the police, the motorcyclist is a 59-year-old man from Grevenbroich (Rhein-Kreis Neuss).

The police in Düsseldorf said he was driving his Suzuki on Thursday around 5:40 a.m. on Reichswaldallee in the direction of Ratingen.

"For reasons that were not yet clear, there was a collision with an oncoming truck at the Davidstraße junction." The 50-year-old truck driver wanted to turn left at the intersection towards the A44 and caught the motorcyclist, reports 24RHEIN.

The 59-year-old was treated at the scene by an ambulance, but any help came too late.

The man died at the scene of the accident.
