Vitaliï Bouliouk's car was charred by "a directional mine", according to another pro-Russian decision-maker in the region.

Another pro-Russian official targeted by the Ukrainian resistance?

Vitaliï Bouliouk, first vice-governor of the occupied region of Kherson was injured on Monday in the explosion of his car, but is “in stable condition”, indicated the Russian agencies.

The head of this region of southern Ukraine that Moscow annexed at the end of September “was injured” following “the explosion of his car”, declared the regional Minister of Health, Vadim Ilmiev.

"His condition is stable, (the injury is) of moderate severity," he told reporters, quoted by the TASS news agency.

According to Vadim Ilmiev, “the driver of the car died instantly”.

“A directional mine exploded, the car was charred,” he detailed, quoted by the Russian news agency Interfax.

The head of the Zaporizhia regional authority, installed by Moscow, Vladimir Rogov, for his part affirmed on Telegram that the explosion took place in Skadovsk, a coastal city along the Black Sea, 70 km south of Kherson and the Dnieper River, which marks the current front line.

Vitaliï Bouliouk, in charge in particular of economic issues in the region, is hospitalized “in Simferopol”, in annexed Crimea, he specified.

At least six attacks before him

At the beginning of November, the Russian forces had to partially withdraw from the Kherson region after a counter-offensive by troops from kyiv, leaving the eponymous city and regional capital in the hands of the Ukrainians.

This is not the first time that a Moscow-appointed official in an occupied Ukrainian region has been targeted by an attack.

In early September, a senior official in the occupied city of Berdyansk in southeastern Ukraine was seriously injured in the explosion of his car bomb.

Before him, at least five pro-Russian leaders had been killed in attacks blamed on kyiv.

On November 9, Kirill Stremoussov No. 2 of the Russian occupation administration in the Kherson region was killed in a road accident.
