Photographic collections”, visible until March 20 at the Museum-Château of the lakeside city.
This 12th century fortified castle, former residence of the Counts of Geneva, is a historic monument that became a museum in 1956. In its reserves, 70,000 objects including a collection of photos to highlight.
It is a question of telling it, of saying how our gaze has evolved in relation to the photo object, curiosity elevated to the rank of art.
Point of view, motif and atmosphere represent here moments of seemingly fixed, yet eventful life.
Bringing old and contemporary photos into dialogue, the exhibition brings together the eyes of artists and observers.
