(CNN Spanish) --
The Mexican journalist Ciro Gómez Leyva reported that he suffered an assassination attempt on Thursday night when leaving his television program.
During the broadcast of his Ciro Gómez Leyva radio program in the morning, he explained that he had left the television station where he worked during his normal hours to go home in the armored truck that the outlet had provided him years before.

He pointed out that a vehicle was coming "very slowly" in front of him.
"At that moment I heard two shots, maybe there were more, dry shot," he said, adding that he realized that a person was shooting at him from a motorcycle.
"The guy, removing the body from the motorcycle, fired at the windshield of the car," said Gómez Leyva, explaining that, according to what he remembers, he never stopped the car.

The journalist added that once the attackers fled, he drove to a neighbor's house and called the authorities from there.
“It was not a robbery, obviously it was not an attempted kidnapping.
Everything indicates that someone wanted to kill me last night,” said Gómez Leyva.
He stressed that he has already filed a complaint with the Public Ministry, and that the experts have already raised the evidence.
He also reiterated that he had not received any recent threats prior to this episode.
"I have no threat (...) I am not going to speculate," he said.
The journalist said he trusts the authorities.
The Secretary of Citizen Security of Mexico City, Omar García Harfuch, confirmed this Friday that thanks to the surveillance videos they were able to identify a black vehicle and a black and orange motorcycle that allegedly participated in the event.
He added that two people were riding the motorcycle, and that the attack occurred at 11:10 PM (local time).
He also said that two caps have been located at the crime scene, although he indicated that they are in other places, and that they will be investigated.
García Harfuch emphasized that they will not rest until those responsible are arrested.
He clarified that they still do not have a motive for the attack, and reported that the Mexico City Attorney General's Office has already opened an investigation folder.
The head of government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, confirmed that the incident is being investigated as "attempted homicide."
