Those responsible at the animal shelter in Münster are appalled: five rabbits were abandoned in freezing temperatures in the forest without food.
Not all survived the ordeal.
Münster - Winter has arrived and the cold weather is a tough test for people and animals, as it is every year.
Whenever possible, every living being looks for a cozy place where it can endure.
Those responsible for the animal shelter in Münster near Dieburg were all the more shocked when a woman delivered a box to them that she had found in the forest.

Woman finds abandoned rabbits without food in box in forest: one animal dead
The woman had found the animals in the forest between Schaafheim and Babenhausen.
They lay in the freezing cold, all alone and without food.
Four of the rabbits survived the ordeal, but any help came too late for one of the animals.
In a post on Facebook, the animal shelter speaks of “absolute irresponsibility” towards the animals.
The shelter is now looking for a new home for the rabbits.
The rabbits will be in quarantine for two weeks, but afterwards they will be happy to be in responsible hands.
It is important to those responsible that the animals have enough space: "Please consider that a pair of rabbits must be provided with at least 6 square meters of enclosure space."
