DVD 1130 (10/25/2022) Córdoba. Rafaela, smelling some flowers in the living room of her house in Córdoba.
David Exposito DAVID EXPOSITO
Turning 100 is less and less exceptional: in Spain there are almost 20,000 centenarians, the majority women.
And this figure is going to grow a lot: it is estimated that in 50 years, more than 200,000 people will reach 100 in our country, because we have one of the highest life expectancies in the world.
But the singular thing is not so much to celebrate a century, but how it is fulfilled: here the centenarians live a lot, and also, very well.
María Sosa Troya visited several centenarians, and brings us the story of Rafaela Tena Antón, who is on her way to turning 102.
