The Deutschlandticket is taking shape.

With a small detour, it is now also possible to test the ticket for just one month.

A cumbersome processing fee is off the table.

And a private railway company is pushing ahead.

Munich –

The railway company Transdev was the fastest.

If you enter www.deutschlandticket.de, you will end up on the website of the originally French company, which also operates the Bavarian Regiobahn (formerly BOB, Meridian).

It secured the domain.

It is even possible to pre-order the ticket, with which all trains, buses and trams in local and regional transport can be used nationwide in the future.

It's a pure PR coup, because first of all it's not even clear when the ticket will actually come - the talk is of April 1st, May 1st or maybe even June 1st.

And secondly, the ticket is sold electronically - anyone can buy any number of tickets from all railway companies and tariff associations, such as Deutsche Bahn, MVV or MVG, in a matter of seconds.

When it comes.

"The work of the federal and state governments to introduce the ticket is running at full speed," assures the Federal Ministry of Transport.

A crucial question also seems to have been clarified: namely whether the Deutschlandticket should also be available as a trial offer for just one month.

Deutschlandticket: First, a processing fee was planned for cancellations

As a reminder: It was originally only planned as a subscription.

It was thought that the purchase could be canceled monthly, i.e. without the cumbersome 3-month period such as with the Deutsche Bahn Bahncard.

But there was a pitfall: there was supposed to be a processing fee, a pretty hefty one at that.

At Transdev this was - as of yesterday - also on the hastily created homepage deutschlandticket.de: "Please note that if you cancel in the first twelve months of your subscription, a service fee of 30.00 euros will be charged."

But now the turnaround: The fee will not exist, assure the Federal Ministry of Transport and Bavaria's Minister of Transport Christian Bernreiter (CSU).

The state transport ministers had decided this unanimously.

In fact, the minutes of the conference of November 29th, which our newspaper has available, say: "Cancellation of the subscription should be possible without a processing fee." So you can try the ticket for a month, but you have to remember to get it in time to cancel.

In the "Draft for common tariff regulations" of December 5th, the 10th of the month is named as the key date.

49-euro ticket: financing regulated but when will it come?

Job ticket and semester ticket

Two other construction sites are in the final phase:

■

Job ticket: The Germany ticket should also be available as a job ticket.

According to the draft tariff, a maximum discount of ten percent will be given if at least ten job tickets are purchased - but only if the employer pays at least ten euros per ticket per month.

Pure volume discounts without employer subsidies should no longer exist.

■

Semester ticket: This will continue to exist, as it is far cheaper than the future Germany ticket.

But the students are only allowed to drive it at the location of their university.

An upgrade is now being considered: by paying the difference, the student can then use the Deutschlandticket.

The future of the ticket is just as uncertain as the start date due to financial imponderables.

"The MVV will only apply for the ticket until December 31, 2023, because the financing is only secured until then," says MVV boss Bernd Rosenbusch.
