According to Arab reports, the protest broke out following the increase in fuel prices in the country.

A Jordanian source said that four more security personnel were injured in the clashes that developed there.

Eyewitnesses said that young people have already clashed with the police in several locations in the city of Ma'an, as well as in the city of Zarqa, northeast of Amman.

According to the residents, dozens of young people also organized a protest in one of the neighborhoods in the Jordanian capital.

It was also reported that tires were burned on the highway between the capital and the Dead Sea, which disrupted the movement of vehicles.

The administration emphasized that it "continues its action to maintain the security of the homeland and protect its citizens, and will strike at anyone who tries to attack the people and institutions of the state and threaten the security of the homeland and citizens."

The administration also sent condolences to the relatives and colleagues of the officer who was killed in the clashes.

Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Jordan has issued a travel warning for workers. In recent days, truck drivers and shops have closed in protest at the spike in fuel prices.

Following the reforms demanded by the International Monetary Fund, the price of fuel in Jordan is more affected by fuel prices in the world markets.

Although the government continues to subsidize part of it at the expense of the budget, it fails to bridge the gap of the price increase.
