Bavaria's Minister of Transport, Christian Bernreiter, has awarded the BRB Oberland network the Bavarian Railway Prize - for the improvement in quality through the Lint trains.

– The eagle medal shone in the spotlight when Bavaria's Transport Minister Christian Bernreiter (CSU) presented it and the certificate to Arnulf Schuchmann.

The managing director of Bayerische Regiobahn (BRB) accepted the Bavarian Railway Award for quality in rail transport at a reception in Nuremberg for one of the five BRB networks: the Oberland network, for the greatest quality improvement in the past five years.

"I am accepting the medal on behalf of all employees in Oberland, because everyone has contributed to us receiving this award," said Schuchmann, according to a company press release.

Such an increase is only possible with a good team, and that makes him very proud: "Our commitment has paid off and is also recognized."

Award: Lint trains "brave decision"

The basis for the award was a "brave decision", as the statement puts it.

As is well known, the Bavarian Regiobahn, with the support of the Bavarian Railway Company (BEG), which plans, finances and controls local rail passenger transport on behalf of the Free State of Bavaria, replaced the entire vehicle fleet in the Oberland network two years ago and thus during the current contract period.

Instead of failure-prone Integral and Talent trains, Lint trains are now on the move.

They are also criticized from time to time, but overall the quality has improved significantly.

The BEG evaluates them in a highly differentiated and strict quality measurement system based on various criteria such as cleanliness, passenger information or the service orientation of the train attendants.

There are open and covert tests and also passenger surveys.

According to the BRB, punctuality is measured using a different method.
