A tragic accident happened at an S-Bahn station in the Erding district on Friday morning.
A tree broke under the snow load and crashed onto the platform.
Two people were seriously injured.
Wörth – According to initial findings, the accident happened around 8.45 a.m.
According to the federal police, the woman was waiting for the train at the St. Koloman S-Bahn station (Wörth municipality, Erding district).
It snowed.
The load became too heavy for a tree, and it buckled.
He met the train passengers.
A witness heard this and rushed to the woman's aid.
What he didn't consider: The tree had also hit the overhead line, which fell to the ground with it.
She punched both of them.
Tree falls on S-Bahn station: two people seriously injured
A police spokeswoman said both people had been taken to hospitals with serious injuries.
According to reports, however, there is no danger to life.
A large number of rescue workers and the railways are deployed, as well as the Hörlkofen and Altenerding fire brigades.
Tree crashes on overhead line and station: route closed until further notice
Altenerding's deputy commander Christopher Nusko reports to our newspaper: "The tree fell out of the forest and onto the platform." When the rescuers arrived, the woman had already been freed.
"We then cleared a path for the emergency doctor and rescue service," Nusko continued.
The line was also grounded with Deutsche Bahn and thus rendered harmless.
Train services have been suspended until further notice.
A rail replacement service will be set up.
The scene of the accident is currently being cleared, the tree has to be broken up and removed.
