It's pretty tight when trucks deliver to the Seehaus on Seestrasse.

Because they have to park in the absolute no-stopping zone, drivers risk penalties.

Because the Seerestaurant Raabe in Steinebach am Wörthsee is on an escape route, there are problems with the delivery of goods.

The designation as an escape route may have to be withdrawn.

Steinebach

– The Seerestaurant Raabe, now known as the “Seehaus”, has existed on the Wörthsee for generations.

It is on Seestrasse in Steinebach.

This is not only a bicycle street, but also an emergency route since July 1, 2020, following a unanimous decision by the municipal council.

There is an absolute ban on stopping on both sides.

The tenants of the restaurant have been in need ever since.

Because the suppliers risk a point and driving ban on delivery.

The CSU and FW have therefore applied for the escape route to be lifted at the level of the restaurant.

On Wednesday evening, the municipal council postponed the decision that the traffic planner should deal with the issue.

On photos of the administration you can see: It is close to the Seehaus restaurant.

The fact that Seestraße became an escape route can be attributed to the overall narrowness and the precarious parking situation on summer days.

"We sometimes didn't get through with the fire brigade," recalled Josef Kraus (CSU).

Wörthsee-Aktiv had already submitted an application for a ban on stopping in 2017.

In June 2020, after an inspection, the designation of a cycle lane was suggested, which resulted in the absolute ban on stopping with the additional sign "rescue route".

Michael Stannecker, Managing Director of the Seehaus with Sonja Witiska and Franz Sinnreich, had repeatedly asked the administration how he should solve the situation with his suppliers.

A suggestion by the management that the owner of the lake house should redesign the parking lot so that the trucks could park there is not feasible, after all the parking spaces are needed for the guests.

As is well known, the property belongs to FW councilor Thomas Bernhard, so he did not take part in the discussion.

The debate revealed that speeding tickets had apparently already been distributed.

According to Christa Heintel, branch manager, it was not possible to find out how many and who issued them.

"In any case, it wasn't the municipal services association," she said.

Heintel also did not consider the interruption of the escape route at the level of the restaurant to be feasible.

Not to identify a loading zone, as suggested by Peter Hopmann (WA).

In your opinion, there are similar problems with the pizza service at the pizza crossing, at Hopmann's Hotel am See and in the future probably also at the Kirchenwirt.

A suspension "softens everything, others then also park in these zones".

Jakob Aumiller (CSU) suggested walking pace in the Seehaus area.

"I can't show an additional speed limit in a cycle lane," countered Heintel.

The traffic regulations apply, to which the municipality must refer.

"This is not a lottery game."

Florian Tyroller (Greens) suggested signing special regulations for delivery traffic at the beginning of Seestraße.

However, Benedikt Gritschneder (SPD) did not assume that a delivery zone would legally exist if there was an absolute ban on stopping.

CSU local councilor Peter Gabler brought retractable posts into play.

And Dirk Bödicker (WA) could finally imagine eliminating the rescue route altogether, declaring an absolute ban on stopping and a loading zone for trucks at the Seehaus.

The traffic planner should examine the possibilities.

"Something is happening, I'm very happy about that," said Stannecker.

The economy has been around for decades, there has never been an issue with the delivery, the problem must be solved correctly and bindingly: "Everyone can imagine what a driving ban means for a professional driver."
