You can admire cribs in 23 shop windows in Lenggries until January 6th.

The three most beautiful were honored by the municipality on Tuesday.

Lenggries – Whereas in previous years the municipal councils were always asked when it came to awarding the most beautiful nativity scene, this year the visitors to the Lenggrieser nativity scene trail were able to make the decision and fill out ballot papers.

The three shops with the most votes received a visit from Mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher and Tourist Information Manager Maria Bader on Tuesday afternoon.

The clothes for the figures in the oriental crib were made by Elisabeth Ertl (Lenggrieser Tracht- und Lodenstub'n) herself.

She was rewarded with third place.

Elisabeth Ertl tailors the clothing for the figures herself

Third place went to the oriental nativity scene from the Lenggrieser Tracht- und Lodenstub'n on Karwendelstrasse.

Head Elisabeth Ertl has been collecting the equipment and figures for this since 1995.

“For years it was set up at my house,” she says.

At some point, however, there was simply not enough space.

A painter from Tegernsee created the oriental background.

In front of it there is no classic wooden stable, but a stone shelter.

Water is rippling in the back corner.

Sheep graze in front of it.

The hostel search can currently be seen on the right-hand side.

But next week it will be renovated.

Jesus' birth follows - with the three kings and their entourage and many angels.

Incidentally, Ertl tailored the clothes for the figures himself.

“The crib is really, really successful.

Thanks,

If you want to capture every detail of the alpine representation, you need time

That was also the case for Rainer Schlosser, Managing Director of "Sport Sepp".

In his shop window is a loan from the wood sculptor Paul Hoffmann.

His father Erich once made the crib in a year of construction.

It used to be in the window of the Hoffmann store on Tölzer Marktstrasse, now it can be seen at Christmas time at “Sport Sepp” on the Isarring.

The feedback from visitors is very positive, says Schlosser.

"Many say how beautiful the nativity scene is." Anyone who wants to grasp every detail of the Alpine depiction needs time.

The mill wheel, the painted cradle, the sundial, the antlers, the washing on the line - there is something new to see with every glance.

The loan from Sculptor Hoffmann in the shop window of "Sport Sepp" is rich in detail.

Managing Director Rainer Schlosser was happy with his second place.

Linden wood figures have been in the family for 40 years

The most beautiful award-winning crib that the Kellner family put up in the shop window of the bakery on Karwendelstrasse is completely different.

The figures are made of linden wood and are simple but of great beauty.

It has been family-owned for 40 years.

"Grandma and grandpa had them made in South Tyrol," says Magdalena Kellner.

On loan from Annemarie Kellner sen.

she is now in the window.

The drawing of a castle forms the background.

"Wonderful" was the mayor's verdict on the figures.

"I'm glad you took part again," he said, handing over the certificate and flowers.
