The magic of Advent at Tegernsee is entering its last round this weekend.

But in Rottach-Egern the magic of the huts can be enjoyed even longer: a small village of huts stays in place after Christmas.

Rottach-Egern

– Rottach's mayor Christian Köck (CSU) does not want the offer to be understood as an "offshoot of Advent".

Rather, there should also be a cozy meeting place on the lake shore for guests and locals in his community in the "between the years".

As early as 2019, a small part of the gastronomic huts were allowed to remain open beyond the Advent season.

This year, the "after-Christmas offer" is not just limited to food and drink, but also a few artisans will continue to be represented.

"These are exclusively Rottacher companies," says the mayor.

Artisans also continue to present their offerings

A total of six booths - three gastronomy, three arts and crafts - will move together in Rottach-Egern as "kloans Hüttndorf" for the time after Christmas.

All other stands will be dismantled as soon as the last weekend of Advent is over.

"It doesn't look nice when three quarters of the booths are empty," says Köck.

He is pleased that his municipality can thus offer both the citizens and those guests who arrive around Christmas time an atmospheric offer.

Hüttendorf in Rottach-Egern is open from December 26th to January 1st

The Hüttendorf will be open for the first time on Tuesday, December 27th.

According to Peter Rie, events manager at Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH (TTT), the gastronomy will even be offering food and drinks on December 26th, i.e. on Boxing Day.

Every day until January 1st, the stalls will spread their hut village atmosphere from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

With New Year's Day, on which the traditional blowing in the Kurpark is also on the program, the magic of the stalls finally comes to an end in Rottach-Egern.

"At some point it has to be the end of the day," says the mayor.

Tourismus GmbH very satisfied with the new edition of the Advent magic

From the point of view of the TTT, it is "very welcome" that Rottach-Egern is going into extra time with some of its stalls, says Rie.

According to Rie, he cannot say at the moment whether the other magical Advent towns of Tegernsee and Bad Wiessee will jump on this train.

For him it is first of all important that the new edition of the Advent magic worked smoothly after the Corona break.

"We're very happy with how things have gone so far," says Rie.

Fortunately, there was no large crowd, as the Tegernsee valley had already experienced in the past on the occasion of the markets.

"There were no longer waiting times and no problems with the shuttle - so far everything has been very relaxed," reports the organizer.

He has also received a lot of positive feedback from the stand operators.

With the shuttle boat from Advent market to Advent market

This weekend, December 17th and 18th, locals and guests have the last opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the magic of Advent.

The markets in Rottach-Egern, Bad Wiessee and Tegernsee are open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

As usual, visitors can be taken from market to market by shuttle boat or bus.

Rottacher Hüttndorf: These exhibitors stay beyond Christmas

These companies and exhibitors will be represented after the Advent Magic in Rottacher Hüttndorf: Voitlhof, Café Max I. Joseph, Ristorante La Dolce Vita as well as Martin Goldhofer (wood turning), Christine Kammerer (felt work) and Christa Frank (cushions & textiles).
