This Thursday, December 15, a 39-year-old man decided to saw off the tree installed near his home by the town hall of Lormont (Gironde), not far from Bordeaux.
He would have shouted “
Allah Akbar
” while cutting the tree, according to information from
Sud Ouest
confirmed by a police source at
Le Figaro
.
Around 1 p.m., the 39-year-old man walked through the middle of this set of buildings on rue Georges Jérôme Duret, towards the Christmas tree, with tools showing his intention to cut it down.
He then began to saw it, according to the testimonies of local residents who quickly alerted the police.
Once arrested, he was placed in police custody and must be the subject of a psychiatric expertise.
