Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko confirmed that the new Western sanctions against Russia will undermine the interests of European countries, while the main beneficiary will be the United States.

Groshko said in an interview with Sputnik: “They abandon the principles of the market in the energy and finance sector and in many other sectors, and this option, when implemented on the ground, undermines the structure of international economic relations as it was formed in recent years, and undermines the economic interests of these countries.” .

Groshko added, "Europe today meekly sacrifices its interests and its political class follows a self-destructive path," noting that Russia, for its part, has tried for several years and in a number of areas to build equal economic relations with the Europeans and with the European Union, which would have laid a reliable foundation. to cooperate.

And he stressed that in the end it is impossible for everyone not to notice that the first beneficiary of all these sanctions is the United States.

Yesterday, the permanent representatives of the European Union countries agreed on the ninth package of sanctions against Russia, including Russian personalities and institutions.
