There were numerous accidents by the afternoon, for which police and fire brigades had to be deployed from the district.
Among other things, there was a crash on state road 2075 in Bayrischzell with a car involved, on the motorway between Weyarn and Holzkirchen and between Gmund and Kreuzstraße there were also accidents.
Accident in Reitham curve - traffic jam on the A8
An accident also occurred in the Reitham curve - a dangerous spot on the federal highway 318 - between Warngau and Kreuzstraße, to which the fire brigade was called.
The accumulation of accidents is due to the wintry snow flurry, which caused snow-slick roads throughout the district.
According to data from Google Maps, traffic flowed sluggishly in almost the entire district.
Traffic was backed up on the A8 for several kilometers.
According to weather forecasts, the snowfall is expected to continue until the early hours of Saturday morning.
The German weather service warns of widespread smoothness, light snowfall and sometimes severe frost.
