With the approaching Christmas and New Year's Eve, the people of the Armenian neighborhood in Homs lit up the Christmas tree this evening, amid a popular festive atmosphere.
The celebration was accompanied by a children's carnival presented by the "Birds of Paradise" troupe.
The organizer of the celebration, Subaih Habous, confirmed that lighting the tree in the neighborhood has become an annual tradition since 2018, and until today an expression of love, giving, and constant joy for Syrians despite all circumstances, pointing out that the carnival included dancing with children and representative figures of Mickey Mouse and Santa Claus, in addition to a concert. In her turn, Rita Esber, a resident of the neighborhood, confirmed that every tree lit in the neighborhoods and regions of Syria is a message to the world that Syria and its people are stronger than all challenges, and that they are able to overcome pain by instilling joy and happiness.
Maysoon Ibrahim, a resident of the neighborhood, also noted the importance of decorating the Christmas tree and everyone's participation, because this atmosphere carries hope and optimism that Syria will be better and that the new Christmas will be full of goodness and peace for it.
