The social documentary "Hartz and warm" shows the life of the people in the prefabricated housing estate of Rostock Groß Klein.
What is life like in some of Germany's most well-known problem areas?
Some days are dreary and marked by worries, while on others the neighborly help and warmth prevail.
No matter whether in Rostock or Mannheim: the topic of finding an apartment occupies the residents.

"Hartz and warm" in Rostock: Manja and Martin have been terminated without notice
The cult couple Manja and Martin have had to put up with a lot: They were horrified to find that their apartment had been broken into.
Only a short time later, another setback hit her.
The "Hartz und cordial" couple has been terminated without notice.
But Manja needs help – and a barrier-free environment.
In order not to have to sleep on the street, the unequal couple separates at first.
Manja finds accommodation in a wheelchair-accessible homeless shelter.
The spatial separation seems to have been the beginning of the end.
In the 13th episode of Season 5, viewers learn the sad news: Martin and Manja have split up – and there is absolute radio silence between the ex-couple!
"He made his way from there alone.
It's the way it is and he won't come back in," Manja explains resolutely.

Manja actually hoped that something would soon be free in her home – and that the engaged couple would be able to live under one roof again.
Wrong thought!
"He was here and once again behaved like a fist to the woods and the next day - when I was at the dentist - he came here and made terror.
Then he just wrote, he's going to Hamburg," Manja continued on the RTLZWEI show.
However, she does not mourn Martin afterwards – on the contrary!
Manja wishes her ex-fiancé "a safe trip, little tit".
But there are also nice changes in Manya's life: Her son Jack and his girlfriend Kathleen want to take the next step in their relationship and get married.

The wheelchair user Manja is facing even more upheavals.
Son Jack's upcoming wedding is only part of it, because Manja has good news of her own when it comes to love.
"I don't cry after anyone.
I've had a new one for three weeks – am I not good?!” reveals the Rostock resident with a broad grin.

Her new partner is 11 years older and was born in Poland.
"He's a very nice guy, but he hasn't had an easy life either.
I'm happy with him - and that's all that matters," enthuses Manja about the new man in her life.
Manja is on cloud nine and lets her new partner cook for her.
Homelessness and the separation from Martin: After this descent, things are now looking up for the “Hartz and warm” protagonist.
