There has been a ban on adhesives in the city of Munich since Friday evening.

For the activists of the last generation, this is only a new incentive.

Munich is becoming the capital of protests.

Munich – Just at the moment when the press release about the new general decree of the city of Munich went out, an activist and two activists settled down on Bayerstrasse in front of Munich Central Station.

Incidentally, the three of them never got stuck, the police were able to quickly get them off the road and there was no traffic chaos.

Anyone who is familiar with Munich knows that Bayerstrasse, directly in front of the main train station, is not one of the neuralgic traffic routes.

Munich becomes the protest capital of the climate movement - CSU politicians warn boldly

Herrmann (l.) thinks they are “climate nuts”.

Nevertheless, a suitable image for what is currently swinging up in the Bavarian state capital.

And somehow you get the impression that both sides are quite right.

The CSU state government and the activists of the "Last Generation" (LG).

The CSU grandees are currently outdoing each other with warnings about the "climate maniacs" (Herrmann) and the "climate RAF" (Dobrindt) and can finally present themselves against the left again in the usual law-and-order manner.

The Bavarian judiciary also supports the usual strict with long preventive detention, a means that the legislature was actually intended for terrorists.

Climate activists travel to Munich from all over Germany for actions

Of course, all of this creates more attention.

More than anywhere else in Germany, where the climate stickers are usually treated in a friendlier way.

Probably one reason why LG has announced several times that it will focus on Bavaria.

The other reason can probably be paraphrased as "now more than ever".

A certain influx of climate activists from other parts of the state to Bavaria can also be observed in the Ministry of the Interior.

The origin is conspicuous, for example, in the most spectacular action to date in Bavaria, the blockade of a runway at Munich Airport.

The seven activists not only come from Bavaria, but also from Berlin, North Rhine-Westphalia and Schleswig-Holstein.

Last generation deliberately makes Bavaria a target "symbolic of Germany's climate failure"

The general decree of the city of Munich should only be a further incentive.

Jakob Beyer, LG spokesman, writes to us when asked: "The last generation will not be intimidated by the general decree any more than by preventive detention and fines.

We will continue our actions in Munich in the coming days and weeks.” Because Bavaria in particular is symbolic of Germany's climate failure.

"For years, important steps such as the expansion of wind energy have been actively impeded, and greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector are not even recorded." Twitter also reacted with dripping irony: "We are checkmated," wrote the last generation there in response to the Munich ban.

Also ironically, the weather factor could make the hitherto tried and tested adhesive protests a bit more difficult.

It's snowing in Munich and it's damn cold.

Superglue certainly has outstanding qualities, but even the best brands will have a hard time with slush and sub-zero temperatures.
