Hebertshausen – The municipality must save energy.

The municipal council discussed planned measures and possible restrictions at its last meeting of the year.

In fact, Hebertshausen will slow down significantly, especially in terms of electricity consumption, after the costs will double in the coming year due to a high tariff (we reported).

Mayor Richard Reischl (CSU) informed the committee about savings options.

An important lever is street lighting, which consumes the largest part of electrical energy of all municipal facilities.

Therefore, as reported, every second lamp in Hebertshausen will remain dark from January if a test run from December 16 in six streets is positive.

In this case, positive means if only a few complaints are received by the town hall.

"Other municipalities switch off rigorously," says the mayor.

But letting the entire village sink into darkness at night is difficult.

Streets are technically connected, and higher-level routes or bus stops must remain illuminated.

"The police won't go along with that."

But electricity must also be saved in municipal buildings.

The outside lighting has already been switched off, says Reischl.

Some lighting has already been switched to LED, so there is hardly any savings.

But in the case of schools and fire stations, users would be “sensitized”.

In fact, the lighting in the gym is an "extreme waste of energy," warned Erich Schneider (FBB).

All lamps in the hall are to be converted to LEDs as part of the general renovation, only then are there subsidies, according to the mayor.

As an individual measure, the costs are below the funding limit.

The option to close the hall, which is open until 11 p.m. earlier, to reduce training times remains.

But children and young people in particular have not been able to do any sport for a long time during Corona.

"That's why I'm not a friend of it," said Reischl.

There is an offer for 24,000 euros to convert the Hebertshausen fire station, which was built in 2011, to LED.

In the fire station, however, the light is rarely on.

"We should rather convert the school, that brings more," says Michael Böswirth (CSU).

The situation with gas is less dramatic, at least in financial terms.

"We still have a super good price until 2025," said the head of the town hall.

"However, unproblematic gas costs do not prevent us from saving energy anyway," warned Erich Schneider (FBB).

In fact, he constantly reminds users to turn down the radiators at night, the mayor said.

"We're trying to do the best we can." The municipal councils unanimously approved the energy-saving roadmap presented.
