The Archdiocese of Hama for the Greek Orthodox community in the city of Hama witnessed this evening the celebrations of erecting and lighting the Christmas tree to celebrate the approaching Christmas and New Year holidays, in the presence of civil and religious activities.
In statements to SANA reporter, Metropolitan Nicolas Baalbaki, Archbishop of Hama and its dependencies, indicated to the Greek Orthodox that the Christmas tree symbolizes the renewal of life, joy and peace, expressing his hope that peace, safety and goodness will prevail throughout the country.
For his part, a member of the People's Assembly in Hama Governorate, Maher Qawarma, stressed that the Syrians, despite the economic and living conditions they face and the siege, insist on the will to live and live their joys, and they hope for a new birth in which goodness, safety, peace and prosperity will prevail.
Shadi Saadeh, a resident of Hama, pointed out that setting up and lighting a Christmas tree in the Archdiocese square sends joy and joy to the hearts of adults and children to express happiness and pride in the homeland despite all the pains, tragedies, siege and challenges it faces, stressing that Syria will remain like a evergreen and renewable Christmas tree, and its people are able to overcome All the adversities and pressures they face with their unity and standing together with their leadership and army.
The lighting of the tree was attended by the Governor of Hama, Dr. Mahmoud Zanboua, the Secretary of the Hama Branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Engineer Ashraf Bashouri, and religious, partisan, administrative and civil activities.
